(Return to page 13)

Patient Information
  • Take each dose with a full glass of water.
  • Epzicom can be taken with or without food but if taken with food, a light meal is preferred.
  • Take Epzicom regularly to get the most benefit.
  • If patients stop taking Epzicom they must not restart it without first talking to their doctor.
  • Monitor for any signs of a hypersensitivity reaction when starting or restarting the medication.  Some of the signs and symptoms of a hypersensitivity reaction are listed on page 13. If any of these symptoms occur, contact the doctor immediately. Starting and stopping Epzicom without doctor consent can lead to life threatening complications.
  •  Avoid taking alcohol while on this medication because it can increase risk of damage to the pancreas or liver.
  • If the doctor decides to restart therapy with Epzicom, it is important that the patient is monitored for any signs of an allergic reaction. When restarting therapy with Epzicom, patients should have access to medical help or have other people around them who can call for help in case of an allergic reaction.
