Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database

Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database offers clinical data on natural medicines and dietary supplements including amino acids, fatty acids, fiber, minerals, phytochemicals and vitamins. The database is compiled by pharmacists and physicians, who are part of the Pharmacist's Letter and Prescriber's Letter, research and editorial staff.

This is an easy to use scientifically based and practical database. The alphabetical index allows users to look up either scientific or familiar common names for plants and chemicals. It has supplement monographs of brand name products with their administration and dosage information, active ingredients, and mechanism of action. Listed products also have both safety and effectiveness ratings assigned by the authors based on published human studies. Adverse reactions and interactions, nutrient depletions and charts are also included along with more than 8,000 references. Readers can review editor comments, significant product interactions with drugs, and dietary supplements including herbs, food interactions, and lab tests. The database also provides potential interactions with disease conditions.
