Considerations: Tablets contain 100 mg of delavirdine mesylate along
with inactive ingredients such as lactose. Drug-drug interactions must
be considered so patients should read the manufacturer's product information
sheet carefully. Taking delavirdine with certain protease inhibitors such
as indinavir (Crixivan) may increase the amount of indinavir in the body.
Clinical Studies: A study of delavirdine, indinavir and ritonavir to assess the safety and effectiveness of three anti-HIV treatments in people who have failed previous treatments containing nelfinavir is being sponsored by Agouron Pharmaceuticals.
