All reproducible PDF files are
designed to print out high-quality copies. If printing from your computer
system, the quality of your copies will depend upon your printer and the
paper you use.
Many of these handouts are
for lower literacy readers. All reproducibles should be explained to the
patient/client by a qualified health professional. This allows patients/clients
to quickly get answers to any questions about handout information. Patient/client
literacy, particulary reading ability and the ability to comprehend handout
material, must be assessed before offering any educational materials.

Reproducibles for those with a
few HIV-positive patients/clients
Some of the handouts have two versions
to allow for as needed duplication from a personal computer. One version
has a format that decreases the use of ink to make reproducing the handouts
more cost-effective. This reproduction method may be more useful for clinicians
and organizations that do not see many HIV-positive people. |

Organizations specializing in
HIV/AIDS
Organizations with a large number of
patients/clients may give their printer copies of the Reproducibles on
a CD to make duplicating easier. These materials are reproduced best by
professional printers. In the instance that a handout has two versions,
you may want to choose which version suits you so the printer will not
duplicate both versions.
As an alternative, you can print out
a master copy of each PDF file from your computer using a heavyweight paper
(80# is a good choice). Laminating the finished master copy helps it to
last longer. |

Highlights: Reproducibles for
lower-literacy HIV-positive patients/clients
A number of reproducibles
have been condensed into a handout for readers with lower reading skills.
These handouts are more suitable for people with third to sixth grade reading
levels. We welcome suggestions as to how we may design the handouts for
those people with even lower reading skills. |
